Men's VIP List
Both Women's & Men's VIP List
Who wears short shorts? Who doesn’t wear short shorts? Bleached out, ripped up, bejeweled, bedazzled, or straight up- all of Young Hollywood is parading around town in the 1970’s staple, denim cut offs. And with temps on the rise, forget about crunches for bikini season, this summer it’s all about squats and shorts!
Camilla has become every “it” girl’s new bf- not a socialite, or pop star but Siwy’s short du jour. Of course Kate was first to rock the Camilla Wonder short with tights and boots, and again with skimmers and a tank for a Starbuck’s run. The Wonder was also seen on fellow fashionista’s Ashley and Nicole. Vanessa rocked out at Coachella in her Camilla Snowstorms and suede accessories. Camilla is definitely a hottie, but not the only kid on the block. Nicole swears by her Anlo Cammie Shorts, rolled up even shorter worn with a fedora and flats. Ashley also in attendance at Coachella, rivaled her HSM alum in JBrand low-rise cuff shorts. For something a little lighter on the wallet but full of style, Lindsay totally goes for it in Black Orchid Mini Shorts and knee-high gladiators.
You can’t keep a good trend down, and with boyfriend jeans on everyone’s radar, comes the boyfriend shorts for Summer 09. Current Elliott the grandfather of the boyfriend, of course has plenty of options- rolled up, frayed edges, long cutoffs, and even suspenders. JBrand has Bobby, their boyfriend, bound to be a perfect fit for all the ladies. And Mrs. Cruise goes for the long haul in PRPS cutoffs, plaid button-down, and fringe sandals- check one boyfriend shorts, check two plaid, and third check for fringe- the top three summer trends all in tact. What else would we expect from the First Lady of Fashion?
So whether your channeling Vanessa in bleached out shorties at a music fest or Katie in oversized boyfriends and shades, this summer make room in your closet for yet some more denim, denim shorts that is. Happy summer from Singer 22!
There are those fashion trends that are constantly reinventing themselves and never seem to go out of style. Think of “fringe” as the Madonna of fashion. The Native American Indians were first on the scene, not so sure they thought of their suede fringe jackets and feather head dresses as trend setting- little did they know that they were paving the way for Vanessa, Lindsay, and Nicole. The roaring 20′s brought back fringe, this time though fringe was silky and a part of the flapper movement. And what would the 1960′s counterculture Hippie movement be without tye die tees, bell-bottom jeans, and fringe vests? Fast-forward Spring 2009, fringe is back in all shapes, sizes and genres and an absolute must have of the season.
From top to bottom fringe is everywhere- Both Vanessa and LC look cas and cool in Kettle Black’s suede fringe boots. Lindsay also opts for fringe on her feet in Madison Harding’s fringe thongs, sharing ice cream with her then love, in denim cut offs. Fringed feet aint your bag, then why not a fringe bag? JJ Winters suede fringe bag has been seen on the arms of Vanessa (a fringeaholic) and Haley Duff. Linea Pelle’s Janis fringe bags are aptly titled. And both Kettle Black and Linea make fab fringe clutches, if you’re looking for hand-held fringe. Leyendecker’s Spring collection is all about the fringe, from a tank with a sprinkle, fringe scarf and skirt, to the Grand Pooba, the Strapless Fringe dress. Pencey also got on the fringe bandwagon with the Popular Dress and The Cold Explosion Fringe dress.
Fringe is at its best when paired with suede -they go together like Sonny and Cher, peanut butter and jelly, and Zac and Miri. Torn reinvents the suede fringe vest once again- paired with CE cutoffs, the hippie chick uniform for the New Millennium. Gryphon also takes a different approach on the classic suede fringe jacket, with a sexy shape and fringes skimming the body, this jacket is the ultimate statement in fringe dressing.
Whatever from of fringe you are into, just be sure to get your fringe benefits at Singer 22!
Keep your denim radar on full force because lots more to come from Dylan George. Pre-order now because all of you denim-junkies (and you know who you are) are going to need these jeans!
Prps is not your ordinary pair of jeans- think of Prps as the Rolls Royce of denim. Created by Donwan Harrell, the collection was derived with an eye towards form, function and durability, believing in a “product with a purpose.” With Southern roots and a decade of world travel, Harrell’s Prps denim is a classic, nostalgic vision of American life with a hint of the worldly wayfarer. Impressed by the Japanese craftsmanship, all Prps denim is woven in small batches on vintage looms by a small community of artisans. Prps comes across as your favorite worn-in, well-done jeans, without the years of blood and sweat and tears to get the same look. It is also the preferred choice amongst the Hollywood A-List.
Posh was probably the first to be seen wearing Prps- she shocked the press strolling with her family in what everyone thought was Beck’s old trousers. She clearly then turned her BF, Katie on- Katie loves the dart skinny jeans, sporting both the vintage and lit wash. And you don’t have to be besties with Katie and Vicki to wear Prps. Halle Berry could wear a paper bag and still look totally babelicious, but instead opts to wear gold gladiators with her Rusty River Boyfriends. Mrs. Cruise decided to get a leg up on summertime dressing, pairing the Cuffed Shorts with a plaid button down, killer bag and shoes. And with summer practically minutes away, Prps Cut Offs in Splatter Pop are definitely way “too cool for school.”
What would a pair of Prps be without the coolest leather jacket on the planet? Katie Holmes does it once again, wearing the cropped black leather biker jacket. Talk about “tough love” – the “toughest” leather jacket we are so in “love” with! Vanessa Hudgens also rocks out a Brown Prps leather with another Singer 22 fave, the Lauren Moshi Peace Girl tee.
Prps may be a bit heavy on the wallet so save your sheckles, because you know what they say- you get what you pay for- and if that’s the case Prps is worth every cent!
Alice+Olivia was born out of designer’s, Stacy Bendet’s quest to create the perfect form-fitting pant. With instant success, “The Stacey Pant” has become the go-to denim alternative for the sophisticated style-set. In 2005 Alice + Olivia expanded into a full-blown contemporary collection, seen everywhere and on everyone from The Hills to The City.
There isn’t a Hollywood Red Carpet event without some young starlet dressed in Alice+Olivia. Both LC and Olivia Palermo were spotted on their respected coasts in the season’s must have Alice+Olivia boyfriend blazer with bare legs and strappy sandals. While Shanae Grimes, paired her floral dress with the Breck leather motorcycle jacket in a surprising shade of gorgeous green. Any of the vintage inspired dresses, including the Regina Antique Beaded Halter and the Bella Beaded Tank are bound to make their debut on the newest “It Girl” at the next “It Happening”. And what would a Malibu Beach Party be without someone showing up in the appropriately titled, Zig Zag Happy Halter Dress? Hamptons bound this summer, be sure you have packed the Long Halter Tiered Dress and the Shirley Side Drape Short Dress for both strolls on Main Street and parties at Lily Pond.
Alice+Olivia is more than perfect pants and party dresses, the Crinkle Button Down in a bevy of pastel shades with the Cuffed shorts and gladiators is an easy and chic daytime look. If feeling a bit more bohemian, The Dakota Embroidered VNeck with cut-offs and fringe thongs may be more your vibe. And with jumpsuits all the rage, A+O’s Flutter Sleeve Short Jumpsuit is one part sweet, one part sexy and all parts BRILLIANT.
Whether day or night, east coast or west, Alice + Olivia offers sweet and sexy clothes for any occasion. So stop reading and start shopping… NOW!!!
You can be assured spring has officially sprung, when the flowers are back in bloom, kids resume their outdoor play, and Blake Lively trades in her tights and long sleeves for a halter-style, turquoise Jay Godfrey Maxi Dress. That's right ladies, send your favorite jeans on a mini holiday and get all "dressed" up for no special occasion. There is nothing easier than slipping on an Ann Ferriday mini-dress, with sandals and sunnies like Nicole did, either to run errands, grab lunch, or all of the above. Staying out after the sun goes down, take cue from Nic and bring along a denim jacket. That's the best part of playing dress up- the simplicity and versatility, which is why when the temp hits a balmy 70 degrees, the Hollywood uniform goes from JBrands and Loefflers to Gypsy's and Mystiques. Shenae Grimes dresses up her Eco-Ganik Tunic with a wide belt and clogs for a stroll on the streets of LA. And as easily as Vanessa wore her Jay Godfrey Tyler Maxi Gown to a Hollywood event, the same dress with silver flips and a Love Quotes scarf would be the perfect ensemble "to see and be seen” at The Ivy. Maxi dressing gets maximum play over the warmer months going from day to eve with a quick change of a shoe and a bag. Both Geren Ford's Ruffle Hem Tank Dress and Silk Halter Gown look equally as hot, whether worn with a shopping bag on Robertson or an evening bag at Les Deux. Same goes for Fashionista fave Gypsy 05 maxi dress- Ashley wears the long tie dye with a fedora and bomber by day, while LC does her best pose in the Lipstick Red Organic Maxi for night. Feeling more mini than maxi, Gypsy still has you covered. Kate Hudson looks totally beach chic in the short tie-dye tube dress, and of course our girl Paris is 100% glam in the Alex tie-dye dress with matching pink pumps and purse. Pensey plays up fringe in the Popular Sweetheart mini and goes fringe overload in, hence, The Cold Explosion Fringe Dress. Leyendecker also goes for the fringe but with a bit more flapper feel. If feathers are more your bird, than Haute Hippie's Feathers V Neck dress has your name written all over it. Studs, sequins, grommets, and more, Haute Hippie has a whole flock to choose from. And no dress would be complete without Kim Kardashian filling it out to perfection, as she does in the Jay Godfrey Color Blocked Tank Dress. Maxi or mini, feathers or fringe, simple or studded, get on the best-dressed list this season at Singer 22!
When Nicole Richie talks we listen, fashionably speaking. And right now she may as well be screaming “I LOVE MY JET JEANS!” Seen all over town in a different pair, Nicole says that her Jet jeans are as comfortable as wearing leggings. JET Jeans designer, John Eshaya, is no stranger to trend setting fashion. Former VP, Creative Director, and buyer for Fred Segal, Eshaya helped define the So Cal style by guiding and influencing brands such as Citizen of Humanity and Juicy Couture. Considered a fashion icon, he has figured out the key to marrying street and fashion runway, which has enabled him to create the celebeloved tee shirt and jean line, JET.
Nicole isn’t alone with her JET obsession- the JET thrasher is officially the jean du jour along Fashion Ave and on Style Street. Nikki, Lindsay, Heidi, and Ms Richie have all been seen in them. There must be something in the name- Nic and Nik both go head to toe in JET – Nic R in the Rock and Roll hoodie and Nik H in the plaid button down. And when Richie isn’t all thrashed out, she rocks the Bolt Pocket Skinny, in both black and the dark clean wash. And of course she’d be first and only one in the New Wave Light Splatter wash- pre-order now, these are bound to be next in line for the crown. And you know it’s only a matter of time before we see Nicole, growing belly and all, in the Studded mini with Open Back Gauze tunic.
If you haven’t got the message yet, Nicole Richie really, really loves her JET jeans, and we really, really love Nicole Richie. Need we say more?
Think of Born Uniqorn as the perfect third-date outfit- fun, sexy, flirty, definitely NOT high maintenance clothes. Created by childhood bff’s Taryn Manning (yes that Taryn Manning) and Tara Jane, everything in the collection is made to feel like you are wearing sweats but look like you are wearing something a lot more expensive. The girls describe the line as a mix of Juicy Couture and Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. As actresses both living and working in LA, the line is very much about Hollywood itself where a lot of their dreams have come true. They want to give a little taste of Hollywood’s dreamaker to the rest of the world through Born Uniqorn.
All of the pieces in the collection have unexpected details that make each piece as unique as the name itself, Born Uniqorn- a (uni) cornucopia of effortless high style for low maintenance chicks. The Rainbow Cord Romper is a favorite, adorned with feather and bead details. If you are not much of a romper kinda girl, the v-neck skinny strap tank has the same skinny rainbow cord, feather, beads, and all- so cute over a bathing suit or with slouchy bell-bottoms. The ruffled layered tank and peasant blouse are both in a gauzy lacelike fabric, which is super soft and sexy. Rounding out the collection and keeping with the “feather theme” is the Ruffle Surplice Dress, the ultimate third date dress!
Taryn and Tara are living the Hollywood dream and want to continue it through Born Uniqorn with plans of everything from shoes to sunglasses. Get the LA look and share in their dream without breaking the bank- the best part of Born Uniqorn is hot clothes with cool prices!
Linea Pelle is an internationally known designer belt and handbag company offering the very best in casual luxury. LP bags and belts are handcrafted from washed Italian leather, which result in the softest feel and a worn vintage look. Distinctive seasonal color palettes are created in house, and the company only uses solid brass hardware for quality and durability in a myriad of finishes. The use of embellishments, novelty details, and functionality reflect Linea Pelle’s close attention to detail and style. Celebrities, Stylists, and fashion’s elite all count LP as a favorite. Lauren Conrad herself, such a fan, even designed a collection for the company, entitled, you guessed it, “LC”.Speedy adds the perfect pop of color to her neutral ensemble. The Dylan Large Bowler is another trendy style seen on the arms of the young, rich and fabulous. While the Leather Zip Tote gets an A+ with both High School Musical cuties, Vanessa and Ashley. Hillary has been seen all over 90210 and beyond with the New Kid on The Block, the Dylan Folding Tote. This versatile bag can go both ways, either folded over, as per Miss Duff, or straight up using the shorter satchel strap. Either way you roll, you’re sure to rock this bag.
So we know LC love’s LP but the rest of young Hollywood has all gone gaga for Dylan, and no-not Dylan McKay, the Dylan collection of Linea Pelle handbags. From Sunset to Melrose starlets are all toting some version of this ultra hot bag. Audrina’s leaf green
Mrs. Beckman may only have eyes for David, and not “Dylan”, but that doesn’t mean “Her Majesty” hasn’t given her royal seal of approval for Linea Pelle. The Queen of Couture is photographed in Harper’s Bazaar, wrapped up in a multitude of Linea Pelle Dome Studded Hip Belts. As for us commoners, this belt- in its four different variations- is definitely fabulous doubled up, but also works just fine, when worn one at a time.
Belts and Bags for now, but with both Prom Queens and Fashion Queens coveting for more, could a lifestyle brand be what’s up next for Linea Pelle? We will all just have to wait and see…
Carisa Brambles dreamt up the idea for Nightcap Clothing after years of working in sales for different contemporary showrooms, including Tocca and Young Fabulous and Broke. As a young LA designer, Carisa wanted to create a relaxed collection that combined loungewear with sportswear. The concept behind Nightcap Clothing is to be worn from day to eve, and of course into the bedroom. Carisa started her line with the Robe Dress- the idea of the robe being so chic to lounge at home, yet so sexy to wear out. She uses the softest supima cotton and pays incredible attention to detail, as with the vintage garments that strongly influence her designs. Plunging necklines, raw edges, and the finest European laces are all incorporated into the collection. She is as meticulous about fit as she is about the hand of the fabric, and it shows, which is why fans are not just enjoying a nightcap before bed.
Both Kate Beckinsale and Kate Hudson love Nightcap Clothing for its 1970′s laid-back beach style. The Foldover Beach Pant is the perfect wear anywhere pant for Spring/Summer- with a generous foldover waistband, lace detail at the knee and a huge bellbottom- wear with a tank for errands, après beach, or layer up jewels for a night on the town. Same goes for the Dropback tee, the open drawstring back, looks as sexy with daisy dukes as it does with the Foldover Leggings. Lace detail on the back of the MonAmour tee is a sweet surprise considering the flowing shape and sexy neckline. And the Mariposa dress can be worn for a sunset beach wedding or the honeymoon thereafter!
Whether you are living a fast paced Cosmopolitan life or drinking Pina Coloda’s by the sea- all good, as long as you’re living the Nightcap dream.
There are designers, and there are artists, and then there is Fiona Paxton- a hybrid of both worlds. Paxton has recently set the jewelry and design world on fire with her intricate beaded, mosaic print necklaces. Plastered in every glossy, is a picture of another celebrity in one of Paxton’s creations draped around their neck. Fiona is not an overnight sensation, and has honed her craft since graduating from London’s Royal College of Art in 1992. Since, she has mastered an impressive resume working in textile design for Chloe, Armani and Moschino. While most recently working as an Art Director for a Textile Studio, she became more interested in the artisan techniques of Indian craftsmen. Using this as her inspiration, she developed, what is today, a jewelry collection of statement necklaces reminiscent of 1920′s glamour. Fiona creates her work by hand, tightly weaving patterns of different beads, with gold and silver chains that result in fluid necklaces that drape flat to the body.
The list of celebrity fans keep growing- Isla Fischer and Hillary Duff have both been spotted in the Sylvie necklace. Isla wears hers in silver accessorizing a blazer, while Hillary’s in oxidized silver acts as the focal piece to a plain white tank. Drew Barrymore takes a totally different approach and rocks out the black and silver Coco necklace. Since being featured in the NY Times, if Fiona Paxton was once considered a hidden gem amongst Hollywood, the secret is now out. Pre-order ASAP, because as fast as she makes them is as fast as we sell them!
In this ever-changing world of denim, it is easy to lose your way amongst the washes, fits, and brands. However, one brand, J Brand, is all you'll ever need to know to stay afloat amongst the rough sea of jeans. Since emerging on the scene, J Brand has stayed true to what they set out to do- creating a jean, with fit being first and foremost. Never using excessive hardware or embellishments, washes and styling is what keep the fashion set constantly coming back for more. Putting skinny jeans on the map, J Brand has the official seal of approval from all of Hollywood. The 12" pencil leg is a classic, like Katie Holmes, who wears with heels and a fitted blazer. For an even skinnier fit, LC, Sienna, Nicole, and Vanessa all flock to the 10", which look great whether worn with ballets or booties. Vanessa loves so much- she made sure to also have her 10" in super lightweight denim, which allow for maximum recovery- aka- WONT STRETCH OUT! Updated skinny styles include the 10" bruiser with zipper detail that Gwyneth had to have. And the wounded knee is officially, Jessica's new go-to jean. Branching out past 10 and 12" openings, J Brand, went the other direction, with last spring's see and be seen jean, the Love Story. Inspired by 1970 icons, Jane Birkin and Alli McGraw, the low-rise bell-bottoms with a 22" opening and slim-fit throughout the hips were seen on every celeb in tinsel town. Most noted was Kate Moss herself, who may as well have been the poster child for Love Story. Kim Kardashian, took the high road with The Doll, the higher waisted bell-bottoms, that also topped the list of every Hollywood it-girl. For spring '09 J Brand doesn't miss a beat with the most sought after styles and washes. Eva works the baggy boyfriend trend, going incognito in a fedora and oversized sunnies, while trying to avoid the paps. Kate Bosworth dons the must-have, uber lust-worthy jean of the season, JBrand's Thrasher. The 12" pencil leg is their newest skinny jean, tie-dyed and torn to perfection, these jeans are bound for Hall of Fame status, like styles past. Thrasher's only competition for top denim honors may be the Zombie wash, their gray-colored counterpart- both 100% obsession worthy. Whatever your craving, dark and skinny, bleached and baggy, or clean and classic, obsess no further, J Brand has the perfect fit for you.
One cannot survive alone on a steady diet of skinny jeans and stilettos. The same way, salad and fish may be good for the body, but indulging in Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food is good for the soul. Think of 291 Venice as the fashionista’s soul food. After days and nights on end in Jimmy’s and J Brands, even the most hard-core, deserve a break. And that is when then they turn to 291, the laid back line of tees, hoodies, and pants.
Created by three longtime friends, a husband and wife duo and their mate of over 10 years, their first collection debuted in Spring 2008. Born out of the relaxed beach culture of Venice California, the design aesthetic takes its inspiration from the 1970′s bohemian era, nature, and vintage graphics. Comfortable and casual, each piece is made with the modern traveler in mind. Silhouettes are clean and simple with bright color palettes and eco- friendly graphics, the ideal dress-down uniform for Hollywood’s young jet set.
An ongoing theme in the Spring 2009 collection is music, a constant on the beaches of Venice. The Bare Girl tank exhibits the natural essence of the ultimate Venice hippie chic, while the Love and Music tunic shows off 291′s use of bold graphics and is also available in four colors. Pretty in pink, the Live with Music tunic is in a tissue weight fabric and perfect for layering. If you’re not feeling the music, than Feel the Sunshine- the tunic is also offered in four different color ways, again showcasing bright and funky graphics. To round out what is new for Spring 09, 291 from Venice goes Back to the Roots with a pullover hoodie.
