Weekend Of Color

Fourth of July weekend is only a few days away, so it's time to make sure your weekend getaway outfits are top notch. I've started my weekend early, so I am enjoying the peace and quiet in the Hamptons until it gets insanely crowded on Friday. As I made my way through town today, I noticed a number of girls fashioning what seems to be the hottest shorts of the season: Kenny Guadalajara Shorts. Seeing Stripes

Stripes seem to be a trend that NEVER go out of style and summer is the perfect time for nautical and fun striped pieces. Stripes are a simple pattern that still seem to bring more life to pieces like a jersey knit tee or a long maxi. The great thing about this trend is that striped patterns have come such a long way and are now available in so many different styles – thick, thin, biased, angled, etc. You can pair these pieces with almost anything, such as, solids, brights, floral patterns and any Singer22 denim. I also love the striped ribbon on the Eugenia Kim fedora, it is so cute and adds a touch of flare to a simple fedora!

Reese Witherspoon is no newbie when it comes to setting style trends. I LOVED the blue hued frocks Reese wore to several of the premieres for her new film, Water For Elephants. Blue is a strong color that can be played up or down. As a fellow blonde I love mixing in cobalt blue dresses or tops into my wardrobe. Blue is very complementary against lighter hair colors. But for those of you with darker tresses, fear not! Blue looks lovely on you too! If you don't want your outfit to center around a big blue piece, try tying in some blue accessories this Summer.
