Jennifer Zeuner’s inspiration is the “artsy, modern and confident girl” that doesn’t need to wear a statement necklace every day. Her new collection fuses modern and wearable seamlessly. It incorporates a lot of angular shapes in surprising ways. This was achieved while still maintaining the collection’s trademark simplicity. The pieces can speak for themselves or be layered. The same piece can reflect a different mood when layered and/or worn differently. The jewelry allows women to be creative with it. The collection is not about a single statement piece. It’s about the conscious, personalized combination of different pieces. Ultimately, it tells a story.
2. Is Jennifer Zeuner the main designer of the line?
Yes, every piece is 100 percent designed by Jennifer. She carefully draws out the pendants and then selects everything such as the chain, chain length, finish and stone. Designing is the one aspect of the business that Jennifer fully controls and doesn’t have anyone assist her with. At first, Jennifer did everything from the designing and selling to the shipping. Now her focus is mostly on designing.
3. What do you see for the future of Jennifer Zeuner?
In the future we hope to preserve the exclusivity of our rapidly growing brand. We want to be selective about our retailers and offer a high end product to the most exclusive stores worldwide. Also, we look forward to expanding our men’s collection. A lot of men wear our pieces designed for women and they simply add an extension to the chain! Another possibility in the future is a collaboration with a style “icon.” It’s in the works already so we are keeping our fingers crossed!
4. What is one thing that we don’t know about your brand?
Our brand’s aesthetic has evolved tremendously over time. Our first pieces, which were bought by Cameron Diaz, consisted mostly of very long beaded necklaces with wood and bone pendants. The look was very bohemian and resonated with our customers. However, after noticing an over-saturation of bohemian and beaded jewelry in the market, Jennifer chose to change the aesthetic completely. Jennifer found inspiration in vintage Lanvin jewelry, and mid century modern furniture. The line’s symbolic and meaningful pieces were now uber-modern and simple. The line became much more classic and sophisticated. The metamorphosis was a huge success! Fast-forward eight years, the line is sold at high end retailers worldwide and loved by stylish celebrities such as Beyonce, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, Selena Gomez, Jessica Alba, Miranda Kerr, Zoe Saldana and Alessandra Ambrosio amongst many others!
