5 Ways to Bounce Back After the Holidays

Admit it, after the holidays come and go you feel exhausted. There’s no reason not to. In my house, especially during the holidays, we are constantly going from place to place celebrating birthdays, decorating the house, wrapping Christmas gifts, cleaning up after a party, eating tons of food, partying for New Years, etc. It’s important get your body back to a normal routine and feel rejuvenated. Here are five ways to bounce back after a busy holiday season.

1. Green tea

Green tea is a huge key to detoxing your body. Drinking it comes with huge health benefits like lowering cholesterol, burning fat, boosted immunity, and so much more. Not only is it good for you, but it’s delicious and comes in so many forms (some healthier than others). One of my favorite places to buy tea is Teavana because there are so many kinds, and since it’s loose tea you can mix and match to create a unique flavor.

2. Aromatherapy

It’s no surprise that certain scents are known to bring calm and relaxed feelings to your body and mind. Take a bubble bath or light tons of candles with scents like lavender, eucalyptus. lemon, sandalwood, etc.

3. Yoga

Yoga is a another great way to get your body more relaxed. It helps clean the blood of waste materials and helps us loosen muscles and joints we tend to ignore on a daily basis. If you live in the New York or San Francisco area, check out Yoga To The People for awesome, donation-based classes.

4. Walking

There’s no better feeling than taking a walk in crisp, fresh air. Head to a local park, boardwalk, town, etc. with a friend (or solo) and walk around. Walking boosts the immune system, reduces stress, revs up energy and much more.

5. Relax!

One of my favorite ways to get my energy level back after the holidays is to lay on the couch and watch movies…all day. Nothing is better than laying around in pajamas watching movies with a bowl of popcorn.
