Lately I’ve been researching hairstyles for an upcoming wedding I have to attend. My dress is somewhat busy so I wanted to do something sleek like a sock bun. When I saw this tutorial I was instantly drawn in…and I’m kind of obsessed.
As stated numerous times, I wasn’t blessed with the natural skill of creating pretty hairstyles. The only thing I can do is throw my hair into a high ponytail or sock bun. Luckily for me, my sister has that natural ability and after seeing this tutorial I’m going to be her newest client. Like most girls, I’m loving sock buns because they are super easy and instantly transform your entire look. This hair tutorial by Luxy Hair kicks it up a notch and adds in an upside down french braid.
I’m so glad I found the Luxy Hair YouTube channel because these girls are so talented and have amazing, easy-to-follow tutorials. Sisters, Mimi and Leyla, started Luxy Hair after Mimi had a bad experience with hair extensions. Check out their site for premium Luxy Clip-In Hair Extensions!
Shoes make or break an outfit. Even the most expensive wardrobe, when paired with the wrong footwear, tends to look a little less classy than it actually is. On the other hand, a good pair of shoes will take any well-fitting clothes to the next level. No matter how simple your clothes are, the perfect pair of footwear has the power to bring your entire ensemble together.
As it has been said from time and time again, “Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she will conquer the world.” With these things in mind, here are five classic shoe styles that help every girl organize a fully functional shoedrobe. These aren’t called classics for reason. These are staples pieces that that transcend the latest trend. Continue reading →
Anyone who has been on Instagram in the past minute knows all about #fitspiration. Being fit, strong and healthy is all the rage and is taking over everyone’s obsession of being just skinny. Hopefully this trend takes over and is here to stay. All my friends certainly know the health nut I’ve become… Continue reading →
As reported by Refinery29, NEXT Model Management is launching a huge U.K. model search via the ever popular platform known as, you guessed it, Instagram. Think you have what it takes to become the next Cara Delevingne or Edie Campbell? Well, here’s your chance!
It might have happened to you. That moment you become a little fearful, yet somewhat flattered, of someone who is obsessing over you. He or she may show up uninvited or constantly text/call/e-mail you even though you provide little to no response. You don’t have the heart to tell him or her to leave you alone, or maybe you do but he or she mistook your straight-forwardness for playing hard-to-get.

A quick glance through stores, boutiques or online stores can overwhelm even the most fashion conscious ladies that want to treat themselves to a new bag this season. With fashion trends and longevity to consider, the endless trove of small and large, round and angled, minimal and detailed handbags could leave you feeling overwhelmed and indecisive. By considering a few points about your own lifestyle you can find the perfect bag for you, without getting too hung up on the different kinds available. Continue reading →
We came to the conclusion long ago (as did many others) that Cara Delevingne is probably one of the coolest and down-to-earth person in the modeling industry. Let’s be real, how many models purposefully make distorted faces, run around with no makeup and sing/dance all over the place? Continue reading →
My mom always jokes that I’m an 80-year-old woman (no disrespect!) stuck in a 22-year-old body and, to an extent, I don’t disagree. I’m all about DIY projects and crafting unique, adorable items I find online through completely random blogs. I get bored pretty quickly after having the same nail color on for more than a week, keeping the same phone case on for months, etc. Example: I bought a new iPhone case three days ago and I’m already done with it.
Look out for a cool and simple DIY iPhone case that no one else will have after the jump! Continue reading →
You want be a Carrie Bradshaw, Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf or whatever overly dramatic character from Glee that’s living the glamorous life in the city. Take it from a relatively new New Yorker – it’s not like that. Granted my life is full of dramatic, fantastic, unexplainable events worthy of a Lifetime movie (lookout for the premiere in 30 years) but it’s still mostly UN-glamorous. Continue reading →
Happy Pride! The pride parade is something I always look forward to every year I’m in New York City, especially this year with the death of DOMA. A couple was carrying a poster that read “Together for 20 years, married for 8, finally legal.” People lined the streets from Midtown on 5th Avenue all the way down to Greenwich, watching from behind the barricades or from apartment windows and balconies.
