All Torn Up- Holey Jeans! Current Elliott, Jet by John Eshaya, PRPS and J Brand all Ripped Up!

Just when you thought you finally have all the jeans you need, boot cut, high- waisted, low- waisted, boyfriend, skinny, bell-bottom, dark wash, light wash, ink wash, black wash, and so on and so on, Nicole Richie emerges onto the streets in Hollywood rocking the newest and hottest trend in denim. And Nic is not alone-thrashed, trashed and ripped up jeans are all the rage come spring. So even though you may have two closets jam packed-make room… Every fashionista is sporting torn up jeans, whether it be Jessica Simpson in J Brand’s appropriately titled “wounded knee” or Siwy’s slashed skinnys, inspired by Edward Scissorhands. Another fave is Jet’s Thrasher, seen on Lindsay, Nikki, and Nicole-worn all ways-punked out with combats as well as lady-like with pumps.

If your vibe is a bit more Nirvana and less Syd Vicious, check out Rachel Bilson’s laid- back look in tattered boyfriend jeans, courtesy of young Hollywood’s latest denim obsession, Current Elliott.  Katie Holmes was early on the trend, as usual, with her “Uptown meets Downtown” style. A conservative blazer, headband, and Birkin paired with PRPS confirms her title of Denim Diva. The look is the epitome of cool and a very modern way of dressing up this dressed down look.

Since it’s still a bit brisk here on the East Coast for “holey jeans,” there are actually some awesome looking alternatives, washes that make u say, “Made you look”… Hillary Duff keeps warm and looks cool in Blank NYC’s 2Legit Wash. And who knew Member’s Only would be a denim force to be reckoned with? The Pastel Graffiti Girl and The Black Storm Jean are also great washes to have people wonder, “Are they or aren’t they?”

So whether you’re channeling your inner flower child, punk princess, or grunge goddess, don’t get “all torn up,” there is definitely a perfectly ripped up pair for all.
