People might be intimidated by wearing striped tops, jeans, dresses, etc. Stripes have the reputation of making you look wider than you truly are. However, according to a style report on TLC, “A perception expert at the University of York in the U.K. found that when two women of the same size wore horizontally and vertically striped dresses, the woman wearing the horizontal stripes appeared thinner. These experiments were based on the Helmholtz square illusion, first created in the eighteenth century, and suggest that horizontal stripes may help slim the figure by creating a 3D effect and introducing depth.”
Check out a few easy ways to look great and feel confident wearing stripes! (more…)
We’ve gone through some roller coaster-style weather here in New York this past year. Rain storms, tons of snow, Hurricane Sandy and too many gray days left me begging for spring time. Our first couple weeks of spring wasn’t all that great honestly. It was kinda grey and chilly, but now the sun is shining and the flowers are starting to bloom lining the sidewalks with vibrant colors.
Now that warm spring weather is in full effect, I find the sleeves on my tops are slowly inching up towards my shoulders. And although I love wearing boots, I love when it comes time to ditch them for half the year and switch to flats and sandals. When I think of spring my mind goes straight to light-wash denim, slouchy tops and lightweight sweaters. On that note, here are a few of my must-have items that no wardrobe should be without! (more…)
Denim has been an all time favorite from season to season. The big three denim brands used to be Levi’s, Lee and Wrangler. Now there are so many different and trendy brands such as J Brand, Rag & Bone/JEAN, Citizens of Humanity and Current/Elliott just to name a few.
Denim became popular with the youth in the 1950s as a symbol of teenage rebellion, in movies such as The Wild One. Jeans were not the “good girl good boy” style back in the day. Currently called jeans, earlier known as dungarees, are a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. (more…)

Sex sells. Its no secret by now, we all know the more provocative the ad campagin the more we pay attention (hence the controversial underage Brooke Shields Calvin Klein “nothing gets between me and my Calvins” commercial). So many of us yearn to be the object of desire to others, because nothing is more flattering than provoking their primal lust. There is no compliment more honest. But what EXACTLY defines sexy? There is always some type of “it” factor that every issue of Cosmopolitan is trying to convince us is easily achievable with a certain outfit or inconspicuous flirty arm touch. It’s much more than that. There’s a reason Ryan Gosling is the center of our fantasies and not so much Steve Carell (no offense Steve!!). (more…)

A style of denim that can grab the attention of Alessandra Ambrosio, Olivia Palermo, Selena Gomez and more, is something every girl should consider looking into! Hudson Jeans have been pictured all over the streets lately, especially in two particular styles: LouLou Tux and LeeLoo. Tuxedo-inspired jeans are fairly new to the denim scene but it seems to be making its mark with the likes of stylish celebrities.
Pictured above on Olivia, Alessandra and Jessica is the LeeLoo super skinny cropped jean. They have a slimming silhouette with color-block detail on the waistband and side panel. Since they are cropped at the ankle, you’ll be able to show off those gorgeous new shoes (and not feel guilty about spending your entire paycheck on them!) (more…)

Miranda Kerr has been spotted out and about wearing Frame Denim multiple times. Who could blame her? The wash is classic and the fit is skinny, what more could you want? Frame is a new brand to hit the denim scene, founded in 2012, but I don’t think it will be going anywhere any time soon. Their fits are flattering and comfortable!
As seen above, Miranda mixes and matches all types of tops, jackets and accessories with these skinny jeans. If you like her edgy and laid back look, opt for a leather moto jacket and dress it up with simple heels. Or keep it sophisticated with a sleek blazer or jacket and flats. The possibilities are endless with these Frame skinny jeans, so go ahead and start planning your outfits!

Stage 3: You’re Officially a Couple
Ok so you’re past the infatuation stage and now you’re seriously dating this person. It’s lasted a good amount of time, say six months or so. The first stage of all (if not, most…I hope) is infatuation.
