I put together some summer looks for when it’s super hot and you’re going out and for when it’s a bit on the chillier side. Emerson Thorpe makes an awesome blazer, it’s so light and has that cool droopy fit. The white is the perfect compliment for a tan, so I’d stick with that, plus I love the way it looks with denim. I paired my Emerson Thorpe blazer with Citizen of Humanity jeans and a blue Naven blouse. I love this look because it’s easy and a great go to, all while still looking put together and chic. The other outfit is my favorite Naven top. I am obsessed with everything Naven. They use the most amazing colors and push a girl to stand out of her box a little bit. I always have so much fun with their collection. I paired the Naven top with an Emerson Thorpe skirt, sort of like the Pleasure Doing Business skirts. It’s a great outfit to pair with a sexy open toe pump for a night out over the Summer. I even incorporated that Rebecca Minkoff side messenger bag. It’s a personal favorite. This bag is a great summer purchase because Rebecca chose a really great yellow that I normally wouldn’t choose for a bag. It screams summer, plus the studding makes it edgier and a little bit more fun.
If you could put together a fun outfit to go out in from SINGER22, what would you choose?
Stripes seem to be a trend that NEVER go out of style and summer is the perfect time for nautical and fun striped pieces. Stripes are a simple pattern that still seem to bring more life to pieces like a jersey knit tee or a long maxi. The great thing about this trend is that striped patterns have come such a long way and are now available in so many different styles – thick, thin, biased, angled, etc. You can pair these pieces with almost anything, such as, solids, brights, floral patterns and any Singer22 denim. I also love the striped ribbon on the Eugenia Kim fedora, it is so cute and adds a touch of flare to a simple fedora!

Maxi dresses are perfect to wear for casual Fridays. You can pair your laid back dress with a pair of wedges to vamp up the look. Add some long necklaces and bracelets to trend things up. During office hours bring a blazer to keep things covered and for happy hour you can bust those shoulders out. Another way to transition this look from day to night is to tie the bottom of the dress up in a side night to show off some leg. Add a trendy studded bag to the mix and you'll be feelin' Friday fashion in no time!
This southern belle has just been informed of a very well known East Coast "Holiday" called "Summer Fridays." For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past decade (like me!), Summer Fridays is when a company lets their employees leave early on Friday afternoons during the summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day typically). Some companies even let their employees pick a number of Fridays that they can just take off. And these are in addition to the other days you get off throughout the year. Typically it's so that New Yorkers can get out to the Hamptons in time to enjoy the sun.
Los Angeles peeps are buzzing about the new change in many company policies that are granting us West Coasters "Summer Friday" privileges too (WHOO HOO!). Seems a bit unfair but hey, regardless if you have "Summer Fridays" on or off, it shouldn't be a reason you can't dress like you're headed to the Hampton's this Memorial Day too, right!?
I love this outfit because it can take you straight from the desk to the dunes. With white skinnies & a nautical tee you'll be dressed perfectly for happy hour. But let's keep the look P.C with a blazer, a cute and trendy one at that. Adding this punch of pink will spruce up an otherwise average look. With clogs and a fringe bag, I'll be surprised if you aren't nominated for company MVF by the month's end…. Most Valuable Fashionsta, that is.

Jump into summer with these fun, bright prints! Prints are a great way to add some flare and dimension to your look. A playful print in bright colors is a great way to wear brights. Now these are two trends we must tread carefully – mixed prints and animal print. Be careful with these two popular spring and summer trends! How do you avoid it? For animal prints, pair it with a solid color like a black blazer. And, if you want to mix some prints, select something subtle and not too bold.
I began my spring cleaning, so it was really nice to come into work only to shoot summer dresses. All of Emerson Thorpe was in the dressing room and it was my first time ever hearing of the brand. I fell in love with the colors. Emerald green, Magenta, Royal Blue, and it wasn’t just in the dresses, it was in the blouses also. I’m on the verge of buying almost everything here, but when I narrow it down and really try to think about what I need, it’s those perfect spring/summer dresses. If you have been up to date on my blog, I recently posted one of my favorite Pencey dresses sold here. It will look so great with a tan, and I love the silk fabric with the tie down corset like back. I’ve also been dying for the perfect summer blazer and of course Emerson Thorpe made the most perfect light blazer for over a floral mini. White and black. Barbara and I are just about to start shooting all the new Chaser as well. Chaser is a personal favorite because it’s honestly great for anything. Over bathingsuits, walking around town, hanging out at the house, and dressed up with a hot mini skirt.
Have a great weekend and keep checking SomethingNavy for all my Singer outfits!
It's very rare, in fact, almost non-existent that Miss AO ever makes a fashion don't. Her carefree and unique style is my fashion inspiration this week. Keeping it simple in black and grey, I copied her outfit and added a punch of softer color for spring. The blush color adds a hint of hue without overpowering the simplicity of this fabulous outfit, plus it pulls in the tan color of the clutch oh so perfectly!
