Sahara Summer Style

While a lot of people have been crushing over the 1970's hippie style (not that I haven't), I have especially been in love with looking like I just stepped out of the Sahara.  Taking a note from every girls best friend, Sex & The City, I'm steering my summer style toward white linen pants, silky floral jackets and wonderful wedges.  It's a look that's certain to take your wardrobe to the next level and it's as easy as 1, 2, 3 (4, 5).

1. Equipment Blouse:  A must have item for every girls closet.  Equipment's Signature blouse will carry your summer wardrobe and you can wear it with everything you own.  It's light, comfortable and made from 100% silk.

2. Jeffrey Campbell Shoe:  I love these open toed Jeffrey Campbell wedges.  They're trendy but understated and you don't have to worry about your feet cramping up. I can wear my Jeffrey Campbell's all day through night and my feet feel friendly.

3. Eugenia Kim Hat:  The simplicity of this hat makes it easy to pair.  Shield your face from the summer sun with a trendy hat like this Eugenia Kim.

4. Current/Elliott Trouser: They're wide long, they're white and I absolutely love these Current/Elliott trousers!!! You can wear them at night, during the day as a swim suit cover, or during the day to brunch.

5. Winter Kate Jacket: The icing on the cake to this outfit is this Winter Kate jacket.  It's light and flowy and will be the statement piece of your sahara summer style.

TGI(Casual)Friday!

To me (and I think everyone else in the world), Friday’s are the best day of the week.  They should feel anything but casual, because (in most offices) “Casual Fridays” gives fashionista’s the time to shine.  “Casual Fridays” should be the day you can bring your personality into the work place and show off your great style.   The best part about this look is that it’s perfect if you’re fancying a date for happy hour.  Ditch the blazer, roll up the sleeves on your blouse and bust out those accessories to take your look around town.  I love wearing bright pops of color in the work place because they symbolize high energy. A pair of wonderful wedges will be a nice treat for your feet if you are standing long hours.

Wowing your work friends is easy and you probably already have most of these pieces in your closet. But, just in case you don’t, Casual Cuteness is just a click away:

Noteworthy Neons

Be bold, be bright, be bold & bright by busting out those neon colors.  I can’t get enough of this season’s hottest trend! Neon is the easiest trend to pull off and compliment every skin complexion.  Don’t be afraid to bust out your neon for work either.  Equipment has come out with their Signature Blouse in almost every color and it’s perfect to add zest to your office life.  The best way to pair up your colorful neon numbers is to not overthink it.  If you have a neon blouse play it safe by pairing it with a pair of denims.  And always remember that neon dresses are perfect to take you from day to night with the switch of a shoe.

Snag SomethingNavy’s City Style

I have been loving SomethingNavy’s blog so much lately.  Her effortless street style always hits the spot.  The best part about her blog?  She almost always uses a hot item from Singer22 and shows what you can pair it with and how to wear it.  Her style reminds me of a modern day Carrie Bradshaw.

Spring Transitioning

Equipment, Equipment, Equipment. They have literally nailed EVERY single color in the crayon box. I want to eat them. Today we have been shooting all the pastels and the neons. It’s fun to use these blouses because I love the whole trend of color blocking and toning. Greens with greens, browns with beiges. I honestly would wear anything with the new shoes I bought from here. The Sam Edelman booties with the fringe. I wear them now, but they are really going to be the perfect summer bootie. Even though it comes in black, I loved the idea of the tan. It was very camp counselor, dazed and confused-ish. I also really love all of the new StyleStalker pieces. The mini white shorts with the flower embroidery are my favorite. They are extremely mini though – it entails a serious tan and butt work outs. I’m excited to announce they added a new section on the website called Street Style. It’s all the looks from Singer22 that I wore out and about in the city. A great place to get ideas for an outfit and ways to mix and match.

Being “Almost Famous”

I had a fashion flashback today when the team over at “Equipment” pointed out that the python blouse we have on the site is very “Almost Famous.” It inspired me to do an entire post on one of the best movies of all time, and one of the best fashion era’s too.  The 1970′s were all about free spirit, ease and effortlessness. Flowy tops, wide leg jeans and maxi dresses were a must have staple for every hipsters closet.  The key to pulling off 70′s style is to own the look & don’t let the clothes wear you.  Mix and match fringe with fur, floral with pops of color and don’t forget to always have a pair of cut off jean shorts handy. “Almost Famous” style is beyond perfect for any music festivals that you have to go to, or lazy days at the beach.

Get Your Globe On

I can't get enough of all the exotic prints and pops of neon colors I'm seeing this spring.  Even better, I love when I see girls pair the two together.  This season, don't be afraid to pair a bright orange or hot pink top with a tribal printed skirt (or vice versa). You can even pair two completely opposing prints together. My rule of thumb is for the prints to be opposing colors and prints.  Kinda like what SomethingNavy did with this Jonathan Simkhai top:

The bottom like with going with the global trend is to not just look efforless be feel it too.

Singer22 Addict

The amount of pieces photographed for Pencey and Thayer today is unheard of. It’s so amazing because I get the opportunity of trying everything on and sort of seeing how it fits. Even though I am madly in love with all the new items – I can’t stop thinking about the brand new StyleStalker dress I bought today. I have been dreaming about it since the day we shot the look book and finally, I am leaving here today with it tucked away into my Singer22 shopping bag. I’d say I’ve racked up about 10 of those now. MUST LEARN SELF CONTROL! Anyway the new Thayer blouses sort of remind me of the Equipments, but the prints are very different then the ordinary leopard and polka dot you normally see. They looked super cute with literally anything I paired them with. I also loved the Pencey dresses. My favorite was the white satin long one with the dream catcher on the back. I also tried on a ton of brand new skinny jeggings – as soon as I thought they couldn’t possibly make any other version of a jegging I was proven wrong. I also bought the Robin colored sleeveless Equipment shirt today. I literally almost fought a woman in the store for the Small. She won, so I left with a medium – turns out, the medium suits me better. My number one thing I must discuss today are all the new shoes. I can’t even begin. Senso is my long lost love. The leopard booties, the black booties, the copy of the Acne Admire booties, and the beige flats with the fringe. When I opened the silver shoe boxes, I felt things I’ve never felt before. It made the day of shooting that much better. I have a problem don’t I? I bet you’ll all feel the same when you see them. We’ve been brainstorming new ideas for the website and we’ve come up with the idea for StreetStyle in the lookbook section. I can’t wait to showcase all my looks out and about in the city. I will also do my own little take on the singer22 lookbooks. For example, this weekend I will do my own unique version of Lighten Up for Spring.

Can’t wait to share!

Trend Report: Seein’ Red

Red is climbing the charts when it comes to being seen and making your wardrobe pop. It can be as simple as an accessory, like a pretty bracelet (alone or intermixed with your other jewels), or a jacket like Nicole Richie so fabulously displays. You can also make it your statement piece, like a top of dress to add some va-va-voom! Make red your go-to color choice this season!

Haute Hippie must haves!

We have been nonstop shooting Haute Hippie lately. The pieces are out of this world – no joke. They are flowy, silky, pinks, florals, floor length skirts and dresses. I can’t get enough of them. The navy floor length skirt with the mermaid sort of bottom with the worn in grey t-shirt is hands down the perfect outfit. The beige jumper was also a personal favorite because of the color, the long sleeve, and the deep V. It’s such a sexy piece for summer. Oh, and also, the white suit with the boy shorts, I have never seen something chicer. It would look amazing with any color equipment shirt underneath

I have been lusting for all the new shoes – especially the Cajon beige and red tie up platforms. I need them in my life. I recently purchased the black orchid skinny jeans and the Chaser Anchor NYC muscle tee. I wore it out this weekend on the 60 degree saturday. It was a hit.
