Hey Mom, Treat Yourself for Mother’s Day!

One of the toughest jobs in the world is to be a mother. It’s nice to have one day a year that’s guaranteed to appreciate all the hard work and effort mom’s everywhere have to deal with on a daily basis. It would be nice if there were two, three…or four days dedicated to it! But we’re just saying.

Obviously since it’s Mother’s Day you will receive gifts from your children saying how much they love you and that you are the best mom in the whole world. And while you may cherish and look forward to opening these precious gifts that may possibly get stowed away somewhere, eaten (you can’t resist those chocolates) or die (I’m talking about flowers!), you should treat yourself. Must-Have Items for When the Sun Starts Shining

We’ve gone through some roller coaster-style weather here in New York this past year. Rain storms, tons of snow, Hurricane Sandy and too many gray days left me begging for spring time. Our first couple weeks of spring wasn’t all that great honestly. It was kinda grey and chilly, but now the sun is shining and the flowers are starting to bloom lining the sidewalks with vibrant colors.

Now that warm spring weather is in full effect, I find the sleeves on my tops are slowly inching up towards my shoulders. And although I love wearing boots, I love when it comes time to ditch them for half the year and switch to flats and sandals. When I think of spring my mind goes straight to light-wash denim, slouchy tops and lightweight sweaters. On that note, here are a few of my must-have items that no wardrobe should be without! No matter what, the end result will be bittersweet knowing that your brother won…but also that your brother won.

Thanksgiving Day Outfit: Comfy or Chic?

Believe it or not, Thanksgiving is just a few days away! It's crazy how fast the time is going but I cannot be more excited for Thanksgiving. Besides my birthday (yes, I count that as a holiday) and Christmas, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because I'm a huge foodie and there's obviously tons of food. The one dilemma I face is whether or not to get dressed up or stay comfy. My personal choice is to be comfortable because I like to just hang around all day and eat myself into a food coma. Trending: Military Green

One of my favorite colors (ever) is military green. It’s a neutral and goes with great with anything. What’s not to love? Plus, it’s a pretty color for fall so here are some items to keep in mind.

A Few of My Favorite Items

Aside from being Blog Editor, I also write all the product descriptions for the online site, which means I get to touch and inspect every piece of clothing we receive. The plus side to this is that I get to feel the fabric and see the patterns up close and personal. The bad part is that I pretty much want every single thing and having just graduated college I'm kind of on a budget. Nonetheless, I put together a list of a few items I really love.

The second I saw this Elizabeth and James Velvet Rex Blazer I fell in love. It comes in black and navy but I think the navy shows off the velvet texture a bit nicer and it pops more. It instantly takes an outfit from cute to sophisticated and chic. (more…)

I’m Obsessed With: Kate Frances Evelyn Blazer

If I had to choose one celebrity closet to raid, I would most definitely pick Kourtney Kardashian. She has the nicest style and always manages to look her best. Plus, I wouldn't mind sneaking my way into Kim and Khloe's closets either!

Kourtney loves her Kate Frances Evelyn Blazer, pictured here in three different colors. This blazer is great because it can instantly dress up a casual outfit. It's open placket, strong shoulders and cropped fit makes it the perfect go-to blazer.
