I love bows, tutus, tulle, heels, flowy silhouettes and everything else that sounds super girly. The only problem? I hate dresses. Well, let’s clarify: I hate wearing dresses but I love the idea of them. I’m the type of girl who literally wears jeans and a tee every day. It’s just comfortable and easy, which dresses, to me, are not. However, when I first saw the Torn by Ronny Kobo dresses that came in yesterday I instantly fell in love. (more…)
Being a lifestylist, there is more to it than just styling with clothing and accessories. Makeup is a huge aspect to consider when making your look complete and polished. Makeup is just as important as carrying the latest bag and strutting in heels. Here are four makeup trends to try this summer. (more…)
We’ve gone through some roller coaster-style weather here in New York this past year. Rain storms, tons of snow, Hurricane Sandy and too many gray days left me begging for spring time. Our first couple weeks of spring wasn’t all that great honestly. It was kinda grey and chilly, but now the sun is shining and the flowers are starting to bloom lining the sidewalks with vibrant colors.
Now that warm spring weather is in full effect, I find the sleeves on my tops are slowly inching up towards my shoulders. And although I love wearing boots, I love when it comes time to ditch them for half the year and switch to flats and sandals. When I think of spring my mind goes straight to light-wash denim, slouchy tops and lightweight sweaters. On that note, here are a few of my must-have items that no wardrobe should be without! (more…)

Happy Easter to those of you who celebrated! And to those who didn’t- I hope you celebrated the revival of the spring season into your closet now that temperatures are finally warming up. After all, that is what the Easter bunny and it’s basket of eggs symbolize, the fertility and new life that come with spring. That means lighter layers, brighter colors, fresher prints and hints of our pale complexions peeking out – finally.
Fun fact: Did you know that female rabbits are able to conceive a second litter while they’re still pregnant with their first? That seems like a painful and unnecessary ability, but it’s no wonder that the rabbit and egg were the chosen signs of new life and fertility. Although its seems like poor judgement for someone to trust a bunny to hop around carrying a basket of fragile pastel painted eggs to hide, I appreciate unlikely pairings – in life and in wardrobe. Spring 2013 is being referred to as a “balancing act” according to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. This season’s color palette emphasizes this need for balance, while at the same time allowing for individuality, self-expression and excitement.”
Take a look at the four trends I’m most excited about for spring! (more…)

Luckily, spring is almost upon us! Spring cleaning is my favorite thing to do when the weather starts to warm up. It feels great to empty out my closet and organize myself, which makes me feel lighter all around. Plus, cleaning out my closet means more room for new clothes, and who doesn’t want that?!
One of my go-to spring essentials is always a fresh white V-neck tee by Monrow. It’s easy for whites to turn yellow from season to season and nothing feels dirtier to me than a slightly yellow tee that’s meant to be white. Make sure to stock your closets with plenty of white tees that you can easily grab in a hurry to match any outfit. (more…)
There are so many fun ways to carry out the fucsia trend that is so hot right now. You can pair pink on pink, which was a hot item on the runway this spring. Others may want to pull out a graphic print to add another pop of trend with their fucsia. Or, there's always the colorblocking method that is a sure hit. However you wear it, fucsia is sure to turn some heads this spring.
