People might be intimidated by wearing striped tops, jeans, dresses, etc. Stripes have the reputation of making you look wider than you truly are. However, according to a style report on TLC, “A perception expert at the University of York in the U.K. found that when two women of the same size wore horizontally and vertically striped dresses, the woman wearing the horizontal stripes appeared thinner. These experiments were based on the Helmholtz square illusion, first created in the eighteenth century, and suggest that horizontal stripes may help slim the figure by creating a 3D effect and introducing depth.”

Rachel’s Radar: Distinguished by Denim

Current/ElliottDenim has been an all time favorite from season to season. The big three denim brands used to be Levi’s, Lee and Wrangler. Now there are so many different and trendy brands such as J Brand, , Citizens of Humanity and Current/Elliott just to name a few.

Denim Denim became popular with the youth in the 1950s as a symbol of teenage rebellion, in movies such as The Wild One. Jeans were not the “good girl good boy” style back in the day. Currently called jeans, earlier known as dungarees, are a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. (more…)

Trending: Fucsia

There are so many fun ways to carry out the fucsia trend that is so hot right now. You can pair pink on pink, which was a hot item on the runway this spring. Others may want to pull out a graphic print to add another pop of trend with their fucsia. Or, there's always the colorblocking method that is a sure hit. However you wear it, fucsia is sure to turn some heads this spring.
