For over a decade, stylists Emily Current and Meritt Elliott had been styling for publications and celebrities. When they met with friend Serge Azria in July 2008 the unique denim brand Current/Elliott was born. Emily and Meritt revealed for love for vintage denim and styles that Azria found inspiring.
Although Serge Azria’s name may not appear in the brand title, you can be certain he has his input. Azria holds the titles of both CEO and Creative Director of Current/Elliott. This entrepreneur’s main goal is to make a difference. Serge set out to manufacture a collection entirely crafted from denim, a new concept the fashion world has yet to see.
Current/Elliott attributes every individual style to the importance denim has played throughout American history. That’s why on every single pair of Current/Elliott jeans the customer will find a tag with the historical reference, an original vintage sample and year of origin. When you step into a pair of these jeans, it’s almost as though you are stepping into a time machine.
Unique silhouettes and prints along with a classic fit are what make Current/Elliott a top denim brand. “Constantly inspired by the past yet always looking to the future, Current/Elliott continually delivers its customers with more of what they have always loved – a distinct and timeless collection that promises to love and be loved for years to come,” as stated on the brand’s website. These jeans can be considered almost like an heirloom as you will never want to get rid of them, but instead pass them along from one generation to another.
