Introduced in 2007, Naven was the innovation of twins Kym and Alexis McClay. The name Naven is inspired by the twins’ Irish descent, using a slight variation of the Irish city of Navan. The daughters of a savvy businessman and an artist are where Kym and Alexis gain their creative talent. Spending most of their youth traveling throughout Europe, Kym and Alexis developed a fashion forward way of thinking that later translated in their designs throughout the Naven fashion line. After Kym graduated with a BA in Fashion and Merchandising from FIDM and Alexis with a degree in Marketing and French from Pepperdine University, the duo took advantage of the experience they gained through working in the industry. Knowing that they had to follow their own vision Kym and Alexis introduced their women’s contemporary line in Los Angeles, gaining the nickname “The Naven Twins.” |
