Rihanna, or Riri as some of her fans like to call her, is the ultimate good girl gone bad. She knows how to dress up or dress down a pair of ripped J Brand or Siwy Denim shorts. A bad girl never feels under-dressed in her Brian Lichtenberg oversized sweatshirt, lovers + friends cropped tee, or Current/Elliott denim shirt. By the pool Rihanna lets her inner rockstar shine when she’s sporting her foil Charlie by Matthew Zink bikini or plunge fringe one piece from L*Space.
In 2003 Rihanna met Evan Rogers in Barbados, her home country. She was signed to Def Jam Recordings soon after working with Evan and auditioning for Jay-Z. We all remember the sweet beach babe Rihanna who sang “Pon De Replay” and “SOS” in 2005 and 2006. Riri was releasing hit after hit and then completely revamped her image with her third album Good Girl Gone Bad.
Riri continued to release hit after hit and garner a huge fan base, having sold over 100 million records. Rihanna has done music collaborations with T.I. and Eminem and won six Grammy’s, five American Music Awards, 22 Billboard Music Awards, and two Brit Awards. She has been named by TIME magazine as one of the 100 most influential people and Forbes declared her the fourth most powerful celebrity with her income of $53 million in 2012.
She was born February 20, 1988 in Saint Michael Barbados as Robyn Rihanna Fenty with two brothers, a half-brother and two half-sisters. She grew up helping her drug-addicted father sell clothes in a stall on the street. Her parents were divorced by the time she was 14 years old. Rihanna was a cadet in a sub-military program where Shontelle was her drill-sergeant. She ended up pursuing music and met Evan Rogers through a mutual friend instead of finishing high school.
