“AIKO, in essence is the Japanese translation for “lovely child” and is a symbolic character; She is the type of girl who takes on many forms. I’ve always felt that there was something interesting to be said about contradiction. I’ve interpreted this idea in the collections by using either casual fabrics to create design-driven styles or by using luxurious fabrics to tell a different story,” says Cynthia Mittweg, Creative Director of AIKO.

AIKO was launched in Spring 2010 during New York Fashion Week. Leading the modern, conceptual brand are Creative Director Cynthia Mittweg and Sean Barron, the founder of Katayone Adeli and JOIE. AIKO’s primarily focuses on reinventing core pieces such as knits, sweaters and leathers.

Although their style originates from a casual point of view, AIKO makes it a point to keep each piece as luxurious as the next. In 2011, AIKO introduced leathers, sweaters and fur to the collection. They have also experimented with many new techniques and novelties to make their brand the best it can be.

Ashley Greene, Lucy Liu, Jessica Biel, Kourtney Kardashian and Jessica Alba are a few celebrities who are fans of the AIKO brand.
