Denim has been an all time favorite from season to season. The big three denim brands used to be Levi’s, Lee and Wrangler. Now there are so many different and trendy brands such as J Brand, , Citizens of Humanity and Current/Elliott just to name a few.
Denim became popular with the youth in the 1950s as a symbol of teenage rebellion, in movies such as The Wild One. Jeans were not the “good girl good boy†style back in the day. Currently called jeans, earlier known as dungarees, are a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. (more…)

“Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony,” is the first quote you'll read off Pantone's homepage regarding the 2013 color of the year: Emerald.
“Green is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum. As it has throughout history, multifaceted Emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate. Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. I LOVE vintage everything. The idea of a vintage piece that has stood the test of time and lived to tell a story about it fascinates me. The garments and accessories from past decades reflect the mood of the people, the advancement in technology, political drama and social standards. Through time loosened whale bone corsets, shorter hemlines, burned bras, acid wash jeans, and men with lipstick have become socially acceptable, though not without controversy and drama.
Why the constant push for change? Because fashion loves drama, drama is entertainment, and entertainment is money. After all, it's money that makes the world go ‘round. And although past trends may resurface there is always a new modern twist. Fashion will continue to push social boundaries so long as people can be offended and technology advances. (more…)

Have you ever seen that episode of Family Guy where Peter wishes he had theme music that plays accordingly with his life situations? How cool would it be to have your own theme song that followed you throughout the day and changed with your mood and surroundings? It would take a lot of the guesswork out for the people around us. That’s what we do with our daily style in a way- we send a message out to the people around us what kind of mood we’re in. But with the amount of black I wear daily people would probably assume that I’m either perpetually depressed or that I don’t like to sort laundry.
Whenever I’m getting dressed and piling on gold accessories with one of my many moto jackets, I imagine some cross between Linkin Park and Shakira playing in the background (still keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll get together for a collaboration). For the rest of the day I have some dramatic mysterious beat following me while I people watch from behind my sunglasses. (more…)
[youtube Band:Â Lord Huron
If you're heading to Coachella look out for Lord Huron! They will be performing both weekends.
Every major music festival has a “type.” What we mean: you won't see someone jumping up and down in a florescent tutu, fringe bikini top and plastic sunglasses at any other music festival than Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC)…and maybe Ultra. Coachella, however, falls on the other end of the festival spectrum. You can express your style in a more peaceful and laid back manner. If you're into street style, boho-chic and flower crowns then keep on reading. (more…)
Our Creative Marketing/Video Producer, Korey, sent over this week's studio sound by Donald Glover who performs as his alter-ego rapper Childish Gambino. Why the name Childish Gambino? Glover discovered it from an online Wu-Tang Clan name generator. “There’s no difference between Donald Glover and Childish Gambino – they’re the same. I just want people to come at my music differently…” he says of the name. (more…)
