In the regular world, Halloween is when children dress up in costumes and beg for candy. In Girl World, Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.

For those of you on the East Coast, we assume you're well aware of the recent temperature drop we've been experiencing. The weather has been crisp, cool, fresh and an all-around perfect fall season as of yet. If you haven't already done so, it's officially time to break out your layering pieces.
Oh, layering. Where do we even begin? We think of layering as a type of art. If done properly, you can look so effortless and chic like you quickly threw together this masterpiece of an outfit. Someone will always pay you that compliment of, “Oh my god you look so cute today!” and the response is generally, “Really?!! I just threw it on and ran out the door.”
Bottom line: once you know how to properly layer your garments the outcome will always be compliment-worthy. We put together four different layered-up outfits for daily situations all girls encounter.

In the past, most of us reserved camouflage for real, mean, hide-in-the-forest type bustle. And for the brave who rocked it, they infiltrated the military thrift stores and made their own anti-society fashion mark on the world, sometimes alone. We looked at them and thought, man they must be a tough cookie, because if they walk into a dark forest they might just disappear…and then what?
Those days are over. No one will think you’re GI-Woman come to life. But you can be — dare I say it — trendy. Top designers like Phillip Lim, DKNY, Equipment and even Manolo Blahnik have taken this otherwise brute feeling pattern and made it high-fashion and all over the streets of style. The colors are always neutral in nature, ranging from green to khaki, with subtle hints of grey. For the bolder, you’ll see movement into the reds and blues, the special forces of high fashion camo.
So now that you can buy it from SINGER22, how do you wear this pattern? It’s neutral in color and yet so bold in nature, which makes it hard for a lot of us to wrap our heads around how to make it good. Follow some key guidelines: (more…)
This week I attended a trend forecast presentation by David Wolfe for my design job. For those of you who don't know what that means – I watched a guy in flamingo print golf pants talk about what all of us will be wearing a year from now. At these gatherings we discuss world events and their influences on fashion. The main focus of this particular meeting? The future and technology. My mind was BLOWN with all the cool tech that's already out and some soon to be released.
Here are 10 facts and wardrobe options to bring you into the future: (more…)

There are, of course, some things you’ll have to drop your hard-earned cash for like a leather jacket, perhaps. However, here are a few items you can get value out of even as the weather changes. (more…)
We still have a few official days of summer left before fall is in full swing. We've been getting a small dose of the crisp fall weather, but it's definitely time to break out the sweaters, scarves and boots. And, in case you aren't sure, the first official day of fall in Sunday, September 22.
