Remember when Jezebel called out Lena Dunham's Vogue photos for not being real and offered up $10,000 for anyone who could produce the original photos? Yeah, we got annoyed too. At first Lena responded in typical Lena fashion with a subtle tweet, but now Vogue is backing her up with this amazing and adorable short video.
Clearly nervous for her first-ever Vogue shoot (who wouldn't be?!) Lena enlists the help of Hamish Bowles, Vogue's editor-at-large. Hamish recalls all the best posing styles courtesy of Twiggy, Cindy, Kate, Naomi and more. Lena and Hamish break into a perfectly choreographed pose sequence in the comforts of Lena's bedroom.
Here's what Lena told Slate France in response to Jezebel's photoshop bounty hunt:
“I know that I felt really like Vogue supported me and wanted to put a depiction of me on the cover. I never felt bullied into anything; I felt really happy because they dressed me and styled me in a way that really reflects who I am.”
We had no doubts that Lena was completely herself in the Vogue photos and this short film just made our Wednesday that much better.
What do you think of this photoshop controversy?
