Say hello to the new face of Chanel: Kristen Stewart. Karl Lagerfeld chose the Twilight actress to be the face of his 2013 Pre-Fall ads for the Texas-themed Métiers d’Art collection. Chanel released the following press release, “Karl Lagerfeld has chosen Kristen Stewart to be the face of the upcoming campaign of the 20131/4 Métiers d’Art Paris-Dallas collection. The collection was unveiled during a show held at Fair Park, Dallas on December 10th, in the presence of the young American actress.”
Although Kristen is not super confident with her knowledge of fashion, as she told Marie Claire Australia last year, “I’m a huge fan of the fashion world now that I’ve been allowed to be a part of it, even if oftentimes I don’t even know what I’m wearing,” she will be joining the ranks of A-list women like Diane Kruger and Blake Lively who have previously been the face of Chanel.
Lagergeld drew inspiration from Houston socialite Lynn Wyatt when designing the collection. He told The Dallas News, “I love Dallas. I love Texans. They are the nicest of people. Texas is wild, but I made it more romantic.”
Karl Lagerfeld will be shooting Kristen’s Chanel ads that will debut in May 2014.
