Last night marked the best Sunday TV lineup ever. I watched the Golden Globe Awards and Girls, but Shameless premiered with its new season along with a few other shows. I posted up on my couch all night in my pajamas switching between season 1 of Girls (and the new episode of course, OMG love!) and the Golden Globes red carpet.
In my opinion, the ladies set the bar high for themselves, kicking off this award show season with oodles of great fashion. Watching last night's red carpet was making me so anxious to see how everyone will dress for the Oscars. Here are a few pictures of gorgeous women like Jennifer Garner, Isla Fisher and Adele.
Adele looked absolutely beautiful in this three-quarter sleeve Burberry gown. I was beyond excited she won for Best Song and her acceptance speech was one of my favorite's of the night! Katharine McPhee showed off her amazing body in a plunging Theyskens' Theory dress. Amy Poehler borrowed one of her looks from the boys in Stella McCartney. Modern Family's Sarah Hyland stunned in this Max Azria Atelier gown.
These ladies may be wearing red, but they certainly don't blend into this red carpet. Jennifer Garner is one of my favorite celebrities and I can't get over how pretty she looked in Vivienne Westwood last night. Zooey Deschanel channeled a vintage look wearing pearls and a gown by Oscar de la Renta. Of course her nails were painted appropriately with film strips!
Leading lady Jennifer Lawrence wore Dior Couture and won Best Actress Comedy/Musical for Silver Linings Playbook. Ok, can we all just take a minute to look at Claire Danes? She had a baby a month ago! She looked radiating in a Versace dress that fit her perfectly. Congrats on winning Best Actress Drama Series for Homeland.
In my opinion, Emily Blunt looked so much better in Michael Kors last night than at the Critics' Choice Awards. Kerry Washington was one of my favorites for the evening in a sheer Miu Miu dress. She is honestly so beautiful that anything will look good on her. Isla Fisher wore a jeweled Reem Acra. Her husband, Sacha Baron Cohen, along with his costars, was nominated forLes Misérables.
Anne Hathaway looked like a porcelain doll in Chanel. She won Best Supporting Actress for Les Misérables. Lea Michele was a presenter last night wearing a sequin Elie Saab halter gown. I have nothing but love for Lea, but I think she needs to have a talk with whoever did her spray tan.
