The latest tune heard in the studio is “Song for Zula” by the band Phosphorescent. Originally from Alabama, Matthew Houck, singer/composer of Phosphorescent, started recording and performing alternative/indie rock music in Athens, Georgia in the early 2000s.
After international touring, his most recent album, Muchacho, received numerous amounts of praise from critics and fans. “Phosphorescent is a Brooklyn band that hasn’t forgotten its Southern pedigree, creating washy psychedelia with a foothold in country-rock,” states the New York Times.
