As of November 1st, Starbucks officially traded out their signature white cups for their (highly-anticipated) red holiday cups. And we all know, once this switcheroo happens the holiday season is in full swing. It's hard to believe that just a couple of months ago we were lounging on the beach soaking up the sun. Since the holiday season approached pretty fast, we can only assume your wardrobe isn't fully prepared for all the parties, dinners and family gatherings. That's where we come in.
Our 2013 City Chic Holiday Look Book will surely influence you for this joyous season. Our inspiration? Gritty meets beautiful: taking bold, elegant pieces and allowing their natural beauty pop out amongst the crowd. There's no need to be a wallflower, ladies. Show off your style and stand out!
Shop our look book after the jump and watch our behind-the-scenes video from our holiday photo shoot. (more…)
We still have a few official days of summer left before fall is in full swing. We've been getting a small dose of the crisp fall weather, but it's definitely time to break out the sweaters, scarves and boots. And, in case you aren't sure, the first official day of fall in Sunday, September 22.
In the summer months I love to wear white and cream colors and mix all of my cool rings and chains to give my style some more personality. I wanted to show the everyday woman how they can make white look casual, fancy and versatile for almost any occasion.
Rain, rain go away come again while I’m on vacation in the Bahamas. Rain sucks. Unless you’re trying to sleep or overindulge in carbs (guilty!), then it’s the perfect motivation. The sidewalks in the city become filled with slow-walking, umbrella-carrying, rain-boot-wearing, frizzy-hair-having pedestrians that all have the same grimace as the horizontal rain sprinkles onto their faces, making their umbrellas mostly useless.
I was near the Meatpacking District meeting some friends for a lazy Sunday carb-loading Italian dinner (check out the tiramisu above) while checking out everyone’s drizzle style and taking creeper shots. The rain stayed at a consistent drizzle/fuzzy sprinkle all day so people were dressed across the board. I caught some overly prepared tourists walking around in their candy colored PVC ponchos who looked like they were ready for a monsoon, and locals who were mostly dressed in light hooded jackets, hats or completely unprepared as if it was just another sunny day. I met a group of friends all with their individual styles to combat the elements.
We've gone through some roller coaster-style weather here in New York this past year. Rain storms, tons of snow, Hurricane Sandy and too many gray days left me begging for spring time. Our first couple weeks of spring wasn't all that great honestly. It was kinda grey and chilly, but now the sun is shining and the flowers are starting to bloom lining the sidewalks with vibrant colors.
Now that warm spring weather is in full effect, I find the sleeves on my tops are slowly inching up towards my shoulders. And although I love wearing boots, I love when it comes time to ditch them for half the year and switch to flats and sandals. When I think of spring my mind goes straight to light-wash denim, slouchy tops and lightweight sweaters. On that note, here are a few of my must-have items that no wardrobe should be without! (more…)
Spring 2013 is being referred to as a “balancing act” according to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. She says, “…we look for balance between light and bright, classic and new. This season's color palette emphasizes this need for balance, while at the same time allowing for individuality, self-expression and excitement.”
Take a look at the four trends I'm most excited about for spring! (more…)
For most of us on the East Coast, the temperatures have been dropping and the air is crisp and cold. Unlike many people, the cold temperatures don't necessarily bother us too much, but lately we've been itching to have the sand in our toes and the sun on our backs.
Given the holiday season (can't believe it's already here!) many people start planning tropical vacations or spring breaks to escape the winter weather in exchange for a week or two in the sun. We picked our must-have items from brands like J Brand, Ray-Ban and Eugenia Kim. If you're hitting up the sun or you're lucky to live in a warm climate year round, take a look below and shop our sun essentials! (more…)

In my opinion, Cyber Monday is way better than Black Friday. I rather lay in my bed on my laptop and score awesome deals than wait outside on a freezing line for hours and risk not getting what I waited for. It's also just so much easier and convenient. Take 20% off your SINGER22 order today with code: CYBER and it ends tonight so hurry up and go fill that shopping bag!
I put together my wishlist for Cyber Monday that mostly consists of holiday/winter inspired pieces. Take a look below!
Our lovely model, Katrina, was sporting amazing plaid nails for one of our mailers that was for, well, the obvious…plaid. I feel like plaid is one of those prints that will never really go out of style, and there's just something about it that makes me feel all cozy inside. Maybe because it makes me think of cold weather and sitting by a fire? Who knows. Anyway, here are a few of my favorite plaid pieces. (more…)
