Go Navajo!

6:48 AM

Fringe and feathers, patchwork and ponchos. Native American-inspired prints and textiles are huge for fall. Isabel Marant, a favorite of the fashion pack, sent fringed boots and patchwork garments down her AW11 runway. Of her collection Marant said,

“This season, it all started with a Navajo-print carpet. I toyed around with this pattern, then I started with a feather print, and I realized I was working on a Native American story.”

Navajo at Isabel Marant AW11

Love this trend? Here are some ways to recreate the Isabel Marant cool-girl aesthetic with some of my favorite pieces from SINGER22.

Fringed Boots

Marant’s boots might be impossible to track down, but here are some alternatives to recreate the runway look.

Koolaburra Veleta Ankle Boots (above), Sam Edelman Louie Boot, Jeffrey Campbell Sloane Boot, Jeffrey Campbell Houston Boot.

Blanket Coat/Poncho

Thrown over a simple outfit, this statement-making outerwear will keep you cozy through winter. Look hip with the slouchy fit, or try belting it for a cinched-in, more tailored effect.

I love the Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent Dakota Vest, Vince Sophie Blanket Sweater, or Textile Elizabeth and James Dakota Sweater Jacket (pictured above.)

Finishing touches

Fringe trimmed handbags, feather motifs and beaded accessories will tie it all together. Try the Streets Ahead Beaded Bracelet (above), Ember Skye Nicole Bag, and As Is Feather Hair Clip for the best finishing touches.

Keep in mind that a little fringe goes a long way. The key word with this look is restraint. Choose one or two key items and balance it out with a dark wash skinny jean and perfectly fitted henley tee. With our fashion-forward pieces at SINGER22, Navajo-chic has never looked better!

Steal Her Style

3:29 PM

Did you take a walk Under The Boardwalk with Urban Royalty yet? If not, be sure to check out this hot summer lookbook that we can’t get enough of.  One of my favorite looks that the Urban Royalty girls put together is a flawless outfit that will carry you from day to night.  The Backstage AM to PM dress will literally take you from AM to PM. You can wear flats with this dress during the day, or dress it up for night with Jeffrey Campbell’s Lana Shoe that also comes in 2 colors.  The girls jazzed up this look with Low Luv’s Cross Pendant and Triangle Body Chain.  (sigh) We’re in love.

Park it in Parker!

3:39 PM

Where to begin….the new collection of Parker is to die for. They always find the best mix of colors. I love their palette of soft pinks and earthy tones. I’m also a huge fan of the shoulder strap with the cut open shoulder style. They do that with their dresses and their tops. I love the tops with the cut out shoulders to be paired with  Citizen Angie Super FlareParker is sort of meant to be feminine/classy/hippie. That’s my take on it, that may be a little contradictory but hey, it works! My favorite part about Parker is that they truly understand a girl and how short/long she wants her dress to be. It’s always the perfect length and just the right fit to flatter any girls body. I feel as if Parker is a perfect team with Jeffrey Campbell, I think they were made for each other.

I Yell, You Yell, We All Rebel Yell

3:48 PM

Today was fun shooting all the comfy t-shirts and sweatshirts from Rebel Yell. It’s always a fun day when we get to shoot the cozy clothes. I paired all of them with all the bright JBrands which I need to start getting into. I bought myself an orange pair and need to find a way to wear it. After trying on all the colored JBrands with the Rebel Yell t-shirts, I really loved the color blocking and the comfiness of it. I brought in the infamous Lita’s and called it a day. I added a few of the Low Luv rings which I honestly could wear with absolutely anything and a tousled hair look. Since I could remember, Rebel Yell has been around and constantly coming out with great soft t-shirts and their signature R on the sleeve. I don’t think anyone can have a satisfied closet with out at least one piece from the line.
