For those of you on the East Coast, we assume you're well aware of the recent temperature drop we've been experiencing. The weather has been crisp, cool, fresh and an all-around perfect fall season as of yet. If you haven't already done so, it's officially time to break out your layering pieces.
Oh, layering. Where do we even begin? We think of layering as a type of art. If done properly, you can look so effortless and chic like you quickly threw together this masterpiece of an outfit. We still have a few official days of summer left before fall is in full swing. We've been getting a small dose of the crisp fall weather, but it's definitely time to break out the sweaters, scarves and boots. And, in case you aren't sure, the first official day of fall in Sunday, September 22.
You know when you’re watching a movie and somehow everything seems to magically work out for the main character in ways that seemingly never happen for you? If your life is anything like mine, all your life changing opportunities are presented at the worst times. The cute guy is standing beside you in the coffee line and you’re dressed like a bum, you get invited to the party/networking event of the century and you won’t have time to go home and change beforehand,   your pants rip on the way to your interview, or your heels already blistered your feet and your date with your future husband has just begun.
The secret to having those perfect movie moments play out like your dreams is attention to detail and a good attitude. The smallest things can ruin an epic moment. Here is what you can do to prepare (more…)
Dear ladies (and some European men):
Pay attention. Recall your routine as you prepare for a typical day. Your hair, face, outfit, shoes and accessories are all on point. There’s one thing you forgot. It may seem petty, and maybe you didn’t know or maybe you thought no one would notice, but guess what…we noticed. We, the world behind you, are staring…talking about “it.†“It†is the dreaded VPL: Visible Panty Line. (more…)
I took a trip back to the South for Mother’s Day weekend to surprise my mom. She’s impossible to shop for, so being the narcissist I am, I thought I was the best present to show up on her doorstep. No one knew I was visiting, so when I showed up with a bouquet of flowers (above) and walked through the front door at dinnertime everyone was thrilled. I was relieved that she was so happy to see me because I figured I would either be welcomed with excitement or scolded for being so good at lying for a month about the planned trip and sneaking down the East Coast. We've gone through some roller coaster-style weather here in New York this past year. Rain storms, tons of snow, Hurricane Sandy and too many gray days left me begging for spring time. Our first couple weeks of spring wasn't all that great honestly. It was kinda grey and chilly, but now the sun is shining and the flowers are starting to bloom lining the sidewalks with vibrant colors.
Now that warm spring weather is in full effect, I find the sleeves on my tops are slowly inching up towards my shoulders. And although I love wearing boots, I love when it comes time to ditch them for half the year and switch to flats and sandals. When I think of spring my mind goes straight to light-wash denim, slouchy tops and lightweight sweaters. On that note, here are a few of my must-have items that no wardrobe should be without! (more…)

We picked our must-have items from brands like J Brand, Ray-Ban and Eugenia Kim. If you're hitting up the sun or you're lucky to live in a warm climate year round, take a look below and shop our sun essentials! (more…)
