Bottom line: if you don’t own a pair of sunglasses, you need to go out right now and buy some. Not only do sunglasses prevent your eyes from harmful sun rays, they also cover your face (for the most part) if you’re hungover or just don’t feel like running into anyone. Think of sunglasses as a shield. Case in point: Big Daddy. Put on sunglasses and no one will see you.
Sunglasses also instantly make anyone look way cooler than they probably are. Don’t take this too literal and wear them everywhere like a restaurant, club, etc. Complex Style rounded up the 50 best sunglasses to have this summer, and a few of ours made the list. Check it out. (more…)
Mother’s Day is this Sunday (May 12) in case you weren’t aware. So cancel your plans for Sunday Funday because you’ll need to cater to mom all day. Take her out for a nice brunch, buy her the classic gift of colorful flowers (that will die in about two weeks, just saying) or pick out something she will really appreciate. Since we know you might have some trouble picking out the perfect gift, here are some items that will surely make you the favorite child…for the day at least. (more…)

It’s pretty rare these days for someone to still be using a non-touchscreen phone or device. However, for the majority of us up-to-date with the technology of 2012, you know how annoying it is once winter hits and you have to quickly type out a text before your fingers freeze off. (more…)
With Spring Break upon us and Memorial Day and summer round the corner we were stoked to see some of our favorite gear amongst Selectism’s “10 Wet Short”. Onia‘s Calder Short and Lightning Bolt‘s boardshort were mentioned. If those don’t suffice we also have Sundek and Olasul as well. Pair any of these trunks with a great graphic t, tank, your favorite shades and Havaianas and you’re ready to jet to the beach or poolside.
Havaianas is known for making the world’s best flip flop, straight from the beaches in Brazil and available worldwide. São Paulo, Brazil is the predominant city in the graffiti world with the largest number of works, and considered one of the top cities in the world to appreciate street art and Havaianas has found a way for you to sport some of this killer art. We are stoked about the union between Havaianas and urban art, and have these limited edition flip-flops with prints from 3 renowned graffiti artists: Highraff, Speto and Zezão. Havaianas are a must have for the summer months, whether paired with denim, your favorite boardshorts from Onia, Sundek or Olasul; or rocking shorts from Burkman Bros. Throw on your Ray-Bans or Persol shades and fill a Wm. J. Mills & Co. duffel with some tanks and Fred Perry polos and you’re ready for a rockin’ beach weekend.
With a strong graphic design influence, Highraff blends graffiti, illustration, cartoon language and psychedelic art, which results in organic forms with striking color combinations. His inspirations mainly come from natural forms such as the sun, moon, stars and plants.
Born in São Paulo, Speto is one of the artists responsible for the originality of Brazilian graffiti. He developed a unique style that carries hip hop elements and a strong influence of woodcut.
Zezão became famous for expressing his art in the sewer galleries in the city of São Paulo. It was a way of bringing color and life to forgotten places. During his career, he developed two types of art: the first remits to abstract calligraphy; the second employs abstract and colorful drawings.
There are some staples every guy’s wardrobe should not be without. One is the iconic polo shirt. Launched at Wimbledon in 1952, the Fred Perry polo shirt was an immediate success, known for its laurel logo and adopted as part of the uniform of the punks and mods and today’s hipsters worldwide. We like to stick to our laurels and note that some celebs like and Stephen Moyer and Zac Efron are fans too. Offered in solid or the timeless twin tipped polo in a never ending combination of colors, pair them with jeans, khakis or your favorite boardshort, havaianas and shades for afternoon cocktails by the pool.
Persol comes from “per il sole” meaning “for the sun”, highlighting these iconic shades’ function of protection against the sun’s rays. For nearly 100 years Persol has been providing great style and function in eyewear. One of the brand’s early fans was Steve McQueen, known as an everlasting men’s style icon. We love the retro styling of the PO0649 and the collapsible quality of the PO0714 favored by McQueen. If that’s not enough check out many of Hollywood’s stars sporting them too; or you may say modern day icons wearing icons.
